Even if I put little rubber stoppers on the back to space it out a little from the treadmill it's propped up against, a USB fan is an exercise in futility, trying to get it close enough to blow air through the small gap, without having the blades hit the treadmill itself and stop spinning, to the point that I gave up trying to use a SB2 15 in art mode propped up on the treadmill (slightly open to prevent it from auto-downclocking the Nvidia GPU to nearly nothing like it does in art mode when fully folded) due to the throttling, and currently use a Go 1, living with the limitation of super old games that it can run reasonably (and FF14 running at about 9 FPS in public places on lowest settings, 1024.
I primarily use my Surface for gaming propped up against a treadmill at the gym, where it's not really feasible to get a fan up behind it (since it's leaning right up against the treadmill's control panel).
